Youth in Action for Development & Protection of the Environment (17)
JADPE, the Youth in Action for Development & Protection of the Environment is a group of children and young adults in Cyvadier, Haiti. Cyvadier is a coastal town in southeastern Haiti, just outside of Jacmel. The JADPE youth have been active for their environment for more than five years. Photos by Jeff Abbott. -

August 2011 JADPE Summer Camp (38)
Last August, JADPE had a visit from volunteers who came to help with a leadership development and English Summer Camp for the JADPE youth as well as to help build an education space for JADPE. They raised over $10,000 for the project and helped to make a dent in supporting programs that support youth and the environment. -
Supporting Farmers in Cyvadier (24)
During the last six months of 2011, the Reforest Haiti program and JADPE youth group distributed vegetable plants to farmers in the village of Cyvadier and surrounding areas. Music for Relief made these distributions possible with a generous grant. -
Building Capacity: Training Haitian Farmers (5)
Reforest Haiti's team of three - Agronomist Cheler Pierre, Director Guerlyne Jean Louis and Organizer Amarald Belizaire Elie - have been bringing together farmers in the Cyvadier area to learn more about simple techniques that can improve their gardens and increase their harvests. -
World Environment Day 2011 (8)
On June 5, 2011 the Youth in Action for Development and the Protection of the Environment (JADPE) celebrated World Environment Day by holding a series of activities and renaming the day “Green Day”, a name that represents hope for them. -
